Involvement in school life

imgSixth Formers enjoy retaining and making new links with the main school community. Much of this is largely with charity work; initiating fund-raising activities and organising staff/student events.
Sixth Form students are also given the opportunity to work with lower school classes to support younger pupils; both in form period and in classes. Many enjoy this aspect and become real ambassadors of our sixth form centre.
The sixth form take pride in leading the whole school community in the Feast Day Mass and other religious celebrations.

Enrichment

Enrichment Activities support and focus students so that they can involve themselves responsibly in activities that would add quality to their lives; now and in the future. The varied activities to date have included pop art, photography, drama and fitness. Students are also contributing to the Capital of Culture 2008. Many opportunities for visits and longer trips do arise, for instance, a residential in Berlin, a trip to Westminster to listen to Kofi Annan speaking about the role of the UN, and a joint residential with our partnership centres in Amsterdam. An enterprising group of students also meets weekly to plan, manage and organise their own company as part of the National Young Enterprise Scheme.
Each year a group of students take part in MUNGA, a mock United Nations Assembly in Liverpool Town Hall. They thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to represent a country of their choice and join in a lively debate.
Sixth Form students actively support many charities and organise events to raise money for organisations such as Barnardos, Livestock for Life and Marie Curie Hospice.
